And we’re off! Like a herd of turtles.
This morning started pretty slow. We slept in and pulled a Ross Geller, checking out at 11:00 am on the dot. I woke up with a bit of a headache. It’s pretty cold over here and coming from the desert is a huge adjustment.

I also made a mistake this morning of having a warm latte on an empty stomach. The caffeine content was probably through the roof because my bladder was trying to get rid of it every 20 minutes. Literally. We stopped 3 times on our way from Cork to Killarney, which is only a 1 hour 15 minute drive. Todays lattes were brought to us by The Bookshelf at The Elysian. These cafés are so fancy around here. And there are a lot of options to choose from.

Today was our first laundry day. Our hotel said they needed more time for our clothes so we used a drop off service on the edge of town that had our laundry washed, dried, and folded within a few hours.

Aside from that, this has probably been our favorite hotel. It has my vote because of our in room jacuzzi. It’s also very close to Main Street and it had parking right in front of it! (That’s a big deal here).

Because of our late start today and so-so weather, we only did a partial tour of the Ring of Kerry which is a scenic drive on a southwest peninsula. We got some amazing photos of the Torc Waterfalls and Ladies View too!

Dinner tonight was at The Flesk Bar and Restaurant. We got pretty full after our soups and took our main dishes for “take away”. They were still hot and delicious a couple hours later. I ordered lamb shanks and Matt had salmon, both with a side of yummy mashed potatoes.
Now time to figure out this jacuzzi.
