We had no plans today. It’s our last full day in Ireland and we decided to just wing it and see where the day took us. We forced ourselves down to breakfast at 9:40 am since it was prepaid. Next thing you know we’re back upstairs watching British trash television; by trash I mean reality tv having no substance. There seems to be a lot of it. They remind me of old MTV shows like next and blind date.

In the afternoon we started packing up our bags and I stumbled across a brochure for a Dublin hop on hop off bus tour. The first stop was right in front of our hotel so we decided to give it a go. We spent the next couple hours touring all of Dublin and snapping photos of places we hadn’t seen yet. My favorite area was Phoenix Park which was huge, very open, and very green. It just looked so peaceful and I had no idea all that green was in Dublin.

After the bus tour we stumbled upon a shopping center and made sure all of our bags were completely filled with stuff and no available space was left. I’d say we succeeded. We had just enough time afterwards to take our bags back to our room before our dinner reservation at the Admiral Restaurant, a Russian food restaurant with a nautical theme. There was only one waiter in the entire restaurant so our dinner felt very drawn out. The food did not disappoint. (Monica, if you’re reading this, you should skip to the next paragraph). For dinner we had calamari to start. Then Matt had beef tongue for his entree while I had baked rabbit. We ordered an additional rack of lamb to share. The lamb turned out to be the best but everything else was still good.

Russian portions are nice and moderate so for dessert, I ordered chocolate fondant and Matt had raspberry cheesecake.

After a short walk back to the hotel, we finished up some last minute packing. Tomorrow morning we’ll head to the airport and say our goodbyes to this beautiful island.
