Business class was cut short today since we had a French rally in the afternoon. I am not a fan of these rallies. They are intended to help us learn French, but really all they do is make us look like idiots in the streets, and then make us go home with swollen feet. We started off at Hotel De Ville, went to a park around Victor Hugo’s house, then ended up by the weird fountain outside of Centre George Pompideo, and finally a church. My team was the first one to reach the church, but it wasn’t enough for us to win.
Team 2 (Harish, Isabella, AJ, Andres) ended up winning but everyone got a prize. I got a deck of cards which I am very happy with since I was contemplating buying one from one of the tourist shops. Peter, Lidia and I decided to go shopping for souvenirs after the rally was over. I finally got some of the things I have been looking at for weeks. I even got hit on by an Arab guy at one of the shops who was upset that we couldn’t go for some coffee before I left. I swear there are so many Arabs here and they are all excited when they see Arab/Egyptian women.
Since we were already at St. Michel, Harish, Lidia, and I, decided to have dinner there. I had beef with wine sauce, and French fries; it was not my favorite dinner. Who serves fancy beef with French fries?
When I got home I put some real time into my presentation. We were supposed to go to a party on a boat from 11pm-5am, but most of us chickened out. We are all so exhausted and focused on tomorrow’s presentation. My PowerPoint is hello-kitty themed. I feel like this is the only time in my college career where I can throw in hello-kitty into a PowerPoint. Hopefully the class enjoys it tomorrow.
