Today I don’t feel like doing anything…

I wanted to go to church today, but after looking into it last night I decided it was a little too far. I would have had to take 3 trains and then walk around 20 minutes from the last train stop; not to mention, anyone who knows me, knows I am great at getting lost. I slept in instead. I somewhat debated doing my laundry, but I am leaving on Friday anyways. I’m actually kind of excited to go back home. My mom still thinks I am coming home on June 20th, but I’m going to surprise her. I can’t wait to see her reaction.

Anyways… I attempted working on my presentation but I am so easily distracted.  Isabella suggested we go out for lunch and I am easily convinced, so we went to a Chinese restaurant at Porte de Vanves.  Most of the time, I like Asian food. But then again, I am speaking of American Asian foods, which don’t count, according to Isabella. In France, you have a 50/50 chance of getting something good, so I am always nervous on what to order.  On my second day in Paris I ordered fried noodles with chicken and got white, crunchy, ramen-like, noodles, with snot covered white chicken. However, I took my chances and ordered fried rice noodles with chicken and vegetables. It turned out great; plus, I am getting really good at using chopsticks.

After we ate, we took a walk down the street to the fresh market. The strawberries looked so amazing so we each bought a basket—delicious! The guy I bought them from turned out to be Egyptian. He said I spoke Arabic better than his kids. I think my Arabic automatically improves when I leave the states.

I started taking a nap when I got home but my “host brother” Max and his friends were being completely obnoxious. I love how they complain about us being noisy, while they are so inconsiderate of us. C’est le vie. (That’s life; I probably butchered the spelling)
